We will cover:

• The major movements in this period (manifest destiny, nativism, and popular sovereignty) and transformation of the sections as they become increasing differently from each other on the issues of:
• Literacy, education, and a national literature, including transcendentalism
• Government, including appeals for women to have the vote
• Economy, including technology in the North and slavery in the South
• Religion, including religious communes (as well as secular ones)
• Varied reforms, primarily in the North and including what to do with slavery

I will show the sketches and the quiz questions

• The events from 1832 through the Kansas-Nebraska Act using the 1 page visual
