Essay Questions for Unit 3: Transformations – America from 1940 to the 21st
Century |
When you read, you identify significant and representative events. When you write, you select from those significant and representative events. You are not writing every fact in the textbook.
You can identify information about significant and representative events that you need to read about carefully by:
§ Using the index at the back of the textbook with the general words in the question
§ Using the quiz questions for this Unit to find specific words to use in the index at the back of the textbook
§ Specific Tip for this Unit: you may find it helpful to use my completed version of the Snapshot for the prior period of 1920s to 1940s (with the ending being for Quiz G), for 1950s to 1970s (with Quiz H) and for 1980s to about 2008 (with Quiz I) to see how these events fit together—or click here for these Snapshots.
Blackboard will display two of these to choose from. You write on either one. You write on about the significant and representative events for either one of those choices. You are not writing every fact in the textbook; you are selecting significant and representative events. Unless a different time is specified, you are writing from the 1940s to the latest time covered by quiz questions (about 2008).
